Self-purchase rule: why it earns 0% commission

3 min read

If you buy through your own tracking link, the conversion is detected automatically and earns 0% commission. The rule isn't arbitrary — it's how we keep payouts honest.

How detection works

We match the buyer email at checkout against the creator's verified payout/contact email. Match = self purchase = 0% commission.

We also flag known card fingerprints — if the same card buys repeatedly through one creator's links across multiple accounts, it gets escalated to manual review.

Shared household exception: if you and a family member legitimately share a card, email Trust & Safety from your account email with context — we'll whitelist after review.

Why this matters

Self-purchase commission is the simplest form of affiliate fraud and the fastest way merchants leave a platform. The 0%-commission rule keeps PPToGo merchant-friendly.

Merchants see 'self-purchase rate' on each creator's profile when deciding whom to approve. Even one or two self-purchases can hurt your approval rate on premium campaigns.

What counts as 'self'

Your account email + your card → self.

Your account email + someone else's card → self (the email match alone is enough).

Different email + same card fingerprint repeatedly → flagged for review.

Different email + different card from a different household → legitimate.
