Low Country is a loose leaf bourbon black tea with Lapsang Souchong and malt from Da LBI Tea. Each cup brings notes of burnt sugar, buckwheat, chicory and bourbon.
Bourbon Black Tea with Smoky, Sweet Dessert-Like Notes
Low Country is a Southern-style breakfast tea: robust black tea, a little lapsang souchong smoke and malted barley, finished with caramel, cream and cocoa notes that read as bourbon sugar. It is thick, warm and a touch sweet without any sugar, which is why it is one of our best sellers with coffee drinkers and whisky fans. A splash of milk brings out the bourbon notes.
Tastes like: burnt sugar, buckwheat hotcakes, chicory, bourbon. Strong enough for morning, smooth enough for all day.
How to brew: 1 teaspoon per 8 oz cup, water just off the boil (205–212°F), steep 3–4 minutes. Takes milk well. For iced tea, brew double strength and pour over ice.
Good to know: caffeinated (breakfast-strength), vegan, sugar-free, non-GMO. Contains gluten from malted barley. Ingredients: black tea, Taiwanese lapsang souchong black tea, malted barley, natural caramel, cream and cocoa flavors.
Sizes: 4-cup deluxe sample ($4.99) to try it, 15-cup bag, 70-cup bag for everyday drinking.
Great for: iced tea, a cup with milk, breakfast and dessert pairings. Other ways to drink it: Low Country in 15 tea bags or Decaf Low Country for evenings.
