Launching a campaign and approving creators

5 min read

A campaign is the unit creators apply to and earn against. Launching one takes about 10 minutes from the merchant dashboard; first applications usually arrive within 24 hours of going live.

Create the campaign

From /dashboard/merchant click New campaign. Fill in: campaign name (creators see this), description, eligible products (or 'entire catalog'), and a short pitch explaining why creators should apply.

You can attach assets (logo, brand colours, sample creative) that creators can use in their content. Optional but high-asset campaigns get noticeably more applications.

Set the start and (optional) end date. Open-ended campaigns are fine and the default โ€” most merchants only set an end date for seasonal or limited-quantity launches.

Commission rate and budget

Commission rate can be flat (% of order total) or tiered by category. Industry-average for physical goods is 8โ€“15%; for digital goods and subscriptions, 20โ€“40% is common. Lower rates get fewer creators; higher rates attract more but compress your margin.

Optional monthly budget cap. Once total accrued commission hits the cap, the campaign auto-pauses until the next month or until you raise the cap. Leave blank for unlimited.

You can run promo windows (boosted rate for a fixed period โ€” e.g. 25% instead of 12% for Black Friday week). Promos show as a separate badge on the campaign card and tend to spike applications.

Approving creator applications

By default, applications from creators in bronze tier and above are auto-approved. New-tier applications go to manual review โ€” that's the safe default for most merchants.

Switch to fully manual approval under Campaign โ†’ Settings โ†’ Approval if you want to review every single application. Increases your workload but useful for prestige brands.

Each application shows the creator's tier, recent GMV, channels with verified follower counts, recent content samples, and a free-text pitch. Approve, decline, or request more info from the same screen.

Managing the live campaign

Pause: temporarily stops new applications and tracking-link creation. Existing approved creators keep earning until you cancel.

Cancel: terminates the campaign. Existing tracking links keep attributing for a 14-day wind-down period so creators aren't blindsided. New applications are rejected immediately.

Edit: most fields can be edited live (commission rate, budget cap, description). Changes apply to new conversions only โ€” already-attributed conversions keep the original rate.
